Planning Ahead

2 01 2012

I often think I prove the maxim “if you aim at nothing you’re sure to hit it”. Although I like to be organised, I don’t really go in for structure and plans that are too regimented and stifling (read disciplined and productive). I prefer my easy come, easy go, lets-see-what-happens approach to life.

It’s often just an excuse for laziness, fear of failure, and bad habits, of course.

This morning I read what John Piper has to say on the subject on the Desiring God website. It’s hard to argue. He uses examples from the Bible to illustrate how planning is common sense, necessary and godly. It’s well worth a read.

I’ll need to sit down and do some careful planning. I’m not sure if I’ll tell you how I get on with it!
