Praise Gathering 2011

12 06 2011

It’s that time of year again.

Yesterday on television we were treated to the Trooping the Colour parade, with all the pomp and ceremony for which this country is both envied and mocked.

Tonight in the Royal Concert Hall we were treated to Praise Gathering 2011, with a suberb programme of music and praise that only Ian Watson could pull together – with a little help from his friends.

It was a feast. A wonderful selection of choruses and hymns, old and new, four hundred choir voices and extremely talented soloists.

“Voice like velvet…”

“Voice like gravy…”

“Divine…”

These were some of the comments I heard on the way out. I don’t know what best describes a night like tonight but I’d say it was pure gold.

I feel sorry for you if you didn’t manage to get tickets. You’ll have to buy the CD.
